Pizzelle

Ingredients (Makes about 60 pizzelles)

  • 6 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons anise, 3 1/2 tbsp vanilla, lemon zest to taste (4 tsp)

Instructions

  1. beat eggs, add sugar
  2. add cool melted butter
  3. add flavouring
  4. sift powder + flour
  5. Use a spoon to place the dough on the pizzelle baker surface
  6. Close and clamp the lid and cook until golden brown, about 30 seconds.
  7. Transfer pizzelles to paper towels to cool. Repeat with remaining dough

  • This is the basic recipe for pizzelle. You can use different flavors. We used rum + orange zest, chocolat + banana extract, maple syrup + Jack Daniel’s
